Big Impact Comes Before a Big Audience
I want to share a mindset shift I’m playing around with as I’m growing an audience around my ideas. Maybe it will help you, too.
This is for any entrepreneur driven to teach, train and lead people. As entrepreneurs, we always want more people consuming our content. Bigger audience, bigger impact, right?
So here’s the mindset shift—> Put less focus on your audience size and growth, and focus on raising your ability to impact ONE person. One to one.
That's the secret I think is hidden in Tony Robbin's example.
Boiled down to its essence, he developed an ability to radically impact people one-on-one. When you met Tony Robbins, you walked away different. It’s the foundation of everything he's done for 40 years.
Once he had that ability to radically impact people one-on-one, he came up with a formula to deliver that same impact in groups. In the process, he created experiences people couldn’t shut up about.
Yet the foundation was radical, one-to-one impact.
So rather than focusing on audience size and growth, I’m working to shift my mindset.
Yes, we all want to impact as many people as possible.
But what if the better path to get there was to obsess on delivering radical, life-changing impact one-on-one?
One video, one podcast, one article at a time, creating work that deeply changes one person at time. To the point where they can’t shut up about it.
If we create content and experiences that people can’t shut up about, they’ll drag people to our events, share our content with friends, and talk about us on social media.
In other words, what if we got obsessed about big impact rather than big audience numbers?
Maybe that mindset will help you too:)
